1. Who this policy applies to

This Privacy Policy applies to GreenNest AI, operated as GreenNest AI, a sole proprietorship based in Ontario, Canada. It covers the public website at https://greennest.ai, the GreenNest web app, and the GreenNest mobile app.

GreenNest is intended for adults and is not directed to children.

Questions about this policy, privacy requests, correction requests, export requests, and deletion requests can be sent to support@greennest.ai.

2. Information GreenNest collects

GreenNest currently collects and stores the following categories of information when you use the service:

  • Account information such as your email address, optional first name, hashed password, verification status, password-reset token state, refresh-token state, and notification preference flags.
  • Authentication and session information, including essential web authentication cookies, secure mobile-device storage for session information in the mobile app, and limited browser storage used to remember your email address and maintain web session markers. GreenNest does not use these technologies for advertising or cross-app tracking.
  • Home profile information such as home type, bedroom count, bathroom count, and whether your home has features like a garage, basement, balcony, patio, or yard/garden, plus household preference flags such as task focus, kids, dog, and cat.
  • Scheduling and task data such as completed-task history, hidden tasks, custom tasks, frequency overrides, reschedules, skips, and adaptive schedule preferences.
  • Notification data such as whether email reminders or push reminders are enabled, email-delivery history used to prevent duplicate reminder sends, and mobile push-device records such as Expo push token, platform, optional device name, optional device ID, and token status timestamps.
  • Technical and service data such as IP address, request timestamps, time zone information sent by your browser or device, and limited operational or error logs used to protect accounts, manage abuse prevention, deliver services, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Support and account-management information you choose to send when you contact GreenNest by email for help with access, exports, corrections, deletion, or technical support, including any browser, device, or platform details you choose to share. That correspondence is handled through Namecheap Private Email rather than the GreenNest application database.

3. AI features

GreenNest may use configured third-party AI providers, including OpenRouter and Groq, for different AI features. Not every AI feature uses the same provider, and not every request is sent to more than one provider.

If you request an AI task guide, GreenNest builds the request on the server from the selected task metadata. That request may include the task ID, task name, category, notes, safety text, estimated time, tools, skill level, season, whether the task is outdoors, and risk-level metadata. It does not include your email address, notification preferences, or home-profile fields as part of the task-guide prompt itself.

Seasonal tips use a separate AI path. When GreenNest generates a seasonal tip with AI, it may send the current season, seasonal theme information, home type, relevant home features such as yard/garden or garage, household flags such as kids, dog, and cat, and the selected task-focus preference. GreenNest uses that limited context to tailor the seasonal tip to your household.

4. Why GreenNest uses this information

  • To create and personalize household task schedules.
  • To let you mark tasks complete, hide tasks, create custom tasks, skip or reschedule work, and manage adaptive scheduling preferences.
  • To create and deliver optional daily and weekly reminder emails and optional push reminders when those settings are enabled on your account.
  • To support core account functions such as signup, login, session refresh, password reset, email verification, export, reset, and deletion.
  • To provide the AI task-guide experience when you ask for it.
  • To respond to support, privacy, correction, access, export, and deletion requests.
  • To operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve GreenNest.

5. Service providers and platforms

GreenNest uses service providers to operate the app.

  • Automated verification, password-reset, and reminder emails are sent through Resend.
  • Support correspondence is handled through Namecheap Private Email.
  • The backend and PostgreSQL database are hosted on Render.
  • Push reminders use Expo and Firebase Cloud Messaging services.
  • GreenNest may use configured third-party AI providers, including OpenRouter and Groq, for optional AI features.
  • App distribution and build tooling currently reference Expo/EAS, and GreenNest may also distribute apps through Apple and Google app stores.

6. External links and third-party content

GreenNest can present third-party links, including Google search links for professional help and YouTube search links for how-to videos. Those third parties operate under their own terms and privacy policies.

A link in GreenNest does not mean GreenNest controls or guarantees third-party content, availability, credentials, pricing, insurance, workmanship, privacy practices, or results. You are responsible for evaluating outside providers and confirming their qualifications where appropriate.

7. Data retention, export, reset, and deletion

GreenNest keeps your account information and related task data while your account remains active so the app can provide its scheduling, notification, and account-management features.

Support correspondence handled through Namecheap Private Email is not stored in the GreenNest application database. GreenNest retains that correspondence only as long as reasonably needed for support, security, legal, or operational purposes.

GreenNest currently provides an authenticated account export route that returns your core account data, home profile, completed tasks, hidden tasks, frequency overrides, schedule overrides, schedule skips, custom tasks, adaptive schedule preference, and email-delivery log. GreenNest also provides a reset feature that clears scheduling history and preferences while keeping the account itself active.

When you delete your account, GreenNest removes the account and associated application records including home profile, completed tasks, hidden tasks, frequency overrides, schedule overrides, schedule skips, custom tasks, adaptive schedule preferences, email-delivery logs, push-device tokens, refresh tokens, email-verification tokens, and cached seasonal-tip records. See the Account Deletion page for current instructions.

Deleting an account in the app does not automatically delete support correspondence from the external mailbox. If you send a deletion request to support, GreenNest will also review identifiable support correspondence and applicable provider-held data that can reasonably be linked to you. GreenNest does not promise immediate deletion from provider backups, operational logs, or other data that cannot reasonably be linked back to you.

8. Your choices and requests

  • You can change optional email reminder and push reminder settings inside your account settings.
  • You can use the unsubscribe link in reminder emails to turn off optional reminder emails.
  • You can request access, correction, export, or deletion by emailing support@greennest.ai.
  • If possible, send deletion requests from the email address registered to your GreenNest account so GreenNest can identify the correct account and related support correspondence.
  • You can delete your account in the app or on the web account page without reinstalling the app.

9. Safeguards and cross-border processing

GreenNest uses authenticated access controls for account routes, hashed passwords, rate limits on sensitive account actions, and backend-only handling of provider API keys. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and GreenNest cannot guarantee absolute security.

Because GreenNest uses third-party infrastructure and service providers, your information may be processed outside Canada, including in jurisdictions where those providers operate.

10. Complaints, questions, and changes

For privacy questions, complaints, or requests, contact support@greennest.ai. Please include enough detail for GreenNest to identify your account and understand your request.

GreenNest may update this Privacy Policy as the product or legal requirements change. When that happens, GreenNest will update the policy page and the last-updated date.

Account, verification, password-reset, and optional reminder emails may come from hello@greennest.ai, but privacy and account-support requests should go to support@greennest.ai.
